As we gear up for a new semester of learning and growth, I wanted to take a moment to address the current weather forecast. It appears that we may be experiencing some inclement weather in the coming days. Our top priority is always the safety and well-being of our students and staff, so please take note of the following reminders:

1. Stay Informed: Keep an eye out for notifications from our school's communication platform, ParentSquare. 2. Dress Appropriately: With colder temperatures, please ensure your children are dressed warmly in appropriate winter attire including coats, hats, and gloves, especially for their morning and afternoon bus routes.
3. Transportation: If there are any changes to bus routes or transportation schedules, we will communicate these as promptly as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate upcoming weather challenges.
4. Stay Safe: Encourage your children to take extra precautions when traveling to and from school. Slippery sidewalks and roads can pose a hazard, so remind them to walk carefully and stay aware of their surroundings.
5. Understanding School Closures:  Deciding to cancel school involves careful consideration of multiple factors. Please take a moment to review the letter below to gain insight into this intricate decision-making process.

VMS student Allison Guzman Perez was recently announced by Future Engineers as one of 20 finalists in the AEOP Veterans Appreciation Challenge.

We ♥ Veterans Pin Design Challenge Announces Competition Winners

The “We ♥ Veterans Pin Design Challenge,” a joint effort of the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) and Future Engineers, today announced the 2023 challenge winners. In the second year of this competition, students from across the country in grades four through 12 put their creativity and engineering skills to the test to design 3D pin that gives thanks to our U.S. military veterans.
